Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

(FAQ consists of questions and answers which are frequently asked during running of Online Application. We keep updating this section. However, some general questions have been given below)

Q.1: What are modes for applying for the post?

Answer: Candidates are required to submit the Online Form only ONCE. Multiple applications will be rejected.

Q.2: I have by mistake, entered incorrect data in my application. How shall I correct it?

Answer: If a Candidate finds that all the filled information is correct, then he/she can select the declaration and click on final SUBMIT button given on the page. Otherwise, EDIT the information filled by him/her. The Candidate should cross check all the details filled in the Online Application before finally submitting the same as no corrections will be possible later. Data, once submitted cannot be edited. Care should therefore be taken that only correct information is entered in the Application Form. Only when you are sure the information is in order, click on SUBMIT button.

Q.3: What documents should I keep for future reference?

Answer: A copy of Registered Application Form, Photography of all relevant Certificates/Documents. APPLICATION REGISTRATION NUMBER to be maintained till the end of the process.

Q.4: Can the age of candidate be rounded off to the lower limit?

Answer: No, the age cannot be rounded off to the lower limit.

Q.5: If the print out of the filled Application Form could not be taken at the time of registration, can it be taken out at a later date?

Answer: Yes, in case the candidate is not able to take the printout of the Registered Application Form, he can take the printout on later date but advisably not after closing date of online application.

Q.6: Whether there any possibility of change in the date of test due to clashing of other exam’s or Interview dates?

Answer: The dates once declared shall not be changed. If any change arose due to unexpected scenario same shall be published on website

Q.7: Whether educational qualification and all other certificates and uploaded documents are required to be sent by post?

Answer: No, Candidates are not required to send educational qualification and all other certificates by Post now. Moreover, candidates must ensure their eligibility as on date of form submission. Candidates who are appearing / result awaited / not completed final semester are not eligible.

Q.8: What will be the threshold dates and requirement for educational qualification?

Answer: The Cut-off date is 21 days from the date of Advertisement in Employment News for reckoning eligibility for educational qualifications, age and experience for submitting Online Applications as mentioned in the Notification. In case the last date of submitting of application is extended, the original cutoff date for reckoning eligibility will remain unchanged.

                        The prescribed exact minimum educational qualification / work experience (if applicable) are mandatory and in absence of the same any higher qualification even if possessed by the candidate does not make any candidate eligible to be called for Trade Test.

Q.9: Whether the change of Trade Test City / Venue is allowed after the submission of Application?

Answer: No change in Trade Test City/Venue will be allowed under any circumstances.

Q.10: What is the last date for submission on Online Application Form?

Answer: The Schedule of Online Registration is given on Website. IN ORDER TO AVOID LAST MINUTE RUSH. THE CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO APPLY EARLY ENOUGH. HVF/AVNL WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NETWORK PROBLEMS OR ANY OTHER PROBLEM IN SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION. INCOMPLETE FORM / MULTIPLE APPLICATION NOT MEETING ADVERTISED CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATION WILL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED.

Q.11: I am unable to view or print the filled in online application form even after clicking the “Print Application” button. What should I do?

Answer: There may be a pop-up blocker on your system that is blocking the printout from opening the application. Remove the pop-up blocker and try again. You can use the ‘Status/Print Application’ button to go to the login page.  Login using your registration number and the date of birth and take print-out of your application.  You can take printout of your application from any system with a printer and internet connection.

Q.12: I do not find my name in the list of eligible candidate in website.

Answer: Then your application might have been rejected.

Q.13: In case my application is rejected, will my fees   be refunded?

Answer: No. The fees once paid will not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances.

Q.14: My Date of Birth is given in 10th mark sheet. Should I upload another documents as proof of Date of Birth?

Answer: No. Not required.

Q.15: I am a female candidate. Do I need to upload the image of my Left Thumb Impression?

Answer: Yes. All the candidates (Male and Female) should upload the image of Left Thumb Impression only.

Q.16:  What are the precautions to be taken while uploading candidate’s photograph and signature?

Answer:  Before filling up the Online Application, a candidate must have his/her Photograph, Signature and Left Thumb Impression, duly scanned in the “JPG” format in the following manner: Photograph up to 50 KB, Signature & Left Thumb impression up to 50KB, Document up to 2 MB (must be clearly discernable) Candidates should take due care while uploading their photograph since no changes are allowed once the photograph is submitted. Uploading of wrong photograph is the sole responsibility of the candidate and in such a case his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled for false identity. Please check the e-Admit Card carefully and errors/discrepancies, if any, should be brought to the notice through Email.

Q.17: What precautions must be taken by candidates for claiming community reservation or reservation for PwBD/Ex-SM?

Answer: Candidates seeking reservation/ relaxation benefits available for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities/Ex-servicemen must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation/ relaxation in accordance with the eligibility criteria prescribed in the Rules/Notice. They should also upload all the requisite certificates in support of their claims for availing reservation before applying for the examination, and in any case, not later than the closing date for receipt of applications for the examination.

Q.18: I am an SC/ST/OBC Applicant but don't have the caste certificate. Can I apply as a General Applicant?

Answer: If you so desire, you may apply stating your category as "General", if eligible for General category. In such an event, your candidature will be considered as "GENERAL" and no change in category shall be allowed later. No relaxation/ concessions and age validation will be available to you. You will have to submit the application fees also.

Q.19: Which categories of candidates have been exempted from paying the application fee?

Answer: SC, ST, Ex-Service Man, PwBD & Female candidates have been exempted from payment of application fees.

Q.20: I belong to SC/ST/OBC category but no post is reserved for my category. Will I get age relaxation?

Answer: No.

Q.21: I belong to Person with Benchmark Disabilities. No post has been reserved for me. Can I also apply?

Answer: Yes. You can only apply if you belong to the identified category for the particular post.

Q.22: I am a PwBD person. But, my disability is below 40 percent. Can I also apply.

Answer: Yes, you can apply as a general candidate, if you belong to the identified category for the particular post.

Q.23: How will I come to know regarding the Trade Test date?

Answer: Check the Website regularly. You will also receive SMS and e-mail alert on your registered mobile number and email ID.

 Q.24: If I do not receive SMS for downloading admit card, what should I do?

Answer: Check the Website and e-mail regularly. You might have registered wrong or incorrect mobile number at the time of submitting the application.

Q.25: Even, If I do not receive mail for downloading admit card, what should I do?

Answer: Check the Website regularly and SMS in the your given Mobile Number.

Q.26: I have lost my mobile & don’t have registration no. What should I do?

Answer: You can check your e-mail. Or you should see the print out of the application form. Or you can check the soft copy, if you have earlier saved the application by clicking “Get Registration Number”

Q.27: I have not even received a mail. I did not keep the copy  of  the  application form. Then what should I do?

Answer: You should visit our website and click on the link “Forgot Registration No.” provided in Website.

Q.28: Are requests for change of Centre/ Venue accepted?

Answer: No. The candidates should note that no request for change of Centre /Venue will be entertained in any case.

Q.29: There is a discrepancy between English & Hindi advertisement. Which advertisement, I should refer?

Answer: English

Q.30: I don’t have any account in Axis bank. Can I pay by any maestro or visa card issued by other bank.

Answer: Yes.

Q.31: How do I pay my fees?

Answer: Candidates (except SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Serviceman & Female) must pay the application fee of Rs.300/- (Three hundred) The detailed procedure for paying fees has been elaborated in “Application fees & how to pay” available in webpage.

Q.33: I am married woman. Will I have to enter my husband name in place of father’s name?

Answer: No. You may have to enter the information as per application format only.

Q.34: I don’t have SC/ST/OBC/ PWD certificate in the format as prescribed in website. However, I possess the certificate issued by the competent authority   in   different format. What should I do?

Answer: You can upload the certificate which is available presently with you in support of your claim to belonging to that category. However, you will have to produce the certificate in the prescribed format at the time of Document Verification.

Q.35: Can I upload the mark sheet downloaded from internet?

Answer: Yes. However, after selection, you will have to produce the original mark sheet at the time of document verification
